MEET THE ARTIST

Danita Stallard is the peculiar mind behind FlitterMouse Studio's collection of snack-sized paintings and quirky comics. An intrepid adventurer and indiscriminate tree-hugger, Stallard finds her inspiration in the rugged forests of Northern Manitoba, where she spends far too much time collecting rocks and exploring interesting trails with her dog.

I really enjoyed your first instalment.  And your artwork is wonderful! I love the steampunk feel. So.....I have to ask...When will you have the second one ready, because I'm ready to read it!
— Val Strom
(Divisional Head Librarian)

I started reading FLANN! and I love it! Seriously. This is such good stuff. So funny and poetic and beautiful!
— Libby Stoker-Lavelle

One part manga, one part steampunk, one part awesome! FLANN! is a truly original and creative reimagining of Flin Flon's namesake story, "The Sunless City." It's got all the cool sci-fi bits without the patriarchal colonialist overtones, and it's actually fun to read! I can hardly wait for Volume 2.
— Mike Spencer
(NorVA Manager)

I love the book!! WOOHOO! Read it as soon as I got home. Soooo good!
— Crystal Kolt (Flin Flon Arts Council)

I was so excited to receive my copy today! The first few pages gave me chills it was so good. [...] I could tell by her work that we share a love of the north as her enthusiasm bursts through the pages. FLANN pays tribute to our roots like nothing I've ever experienced, in print or otherwise. I don't want to give anything away — you have to read it for yourself. Definitely worth picking up a copy.

MEET THE ARTIST

Danita Stallard is the peculiar mind behind the FlitterMouse Studio's collection of fantastical art. She spends way too much time exploring the woods with her dog.

When she isn't distracted by various adventures, your favourite FlitterMouse artist can be found amidst her sketchpads and eraser crumbs. Her creativity is fuelled by copious amounts of Earl Grey Tea, Pocky, and podcasts.

She remains, as ever, a firm believer in the many uses of salt.
